Why another blog?

It is our opinion that the first post of any blog should seek to justify its existence. After all, aren't there already enough blogs already? Do we not suppose that there is someone out there already doing what we intend to do with greater excellence than we'll every achieve? And who has time to read all of the current excellent blogs as it is? Is one more blog really necessary?

Well, those were just some of the questions considered prior to embarking upon this endeavor. However, it is our hope that this blog will justify its existence in the specificity of its intent. Our goal is not for this blog to achieve international readership. This will not be a "here-is-what-I-did-today" type blog. It will not be a showcase to feature our opinions and commentary. (To be honest, we don't feel that in and of ourselves we have to much to offer). On the other hand, however, we find that we are frequently made aware of many helpful resources (including: books, quotes, songs, articles, other blogs, e-mails, etc.) that could potentially serve the members of our local church and perhaps others as well. So we have decided to begin this blog with the goal of simply highlighting resources and materials that have deepened our love for Christ and increased our passion for the local church. If we successfully carry out this goal and it serves to benefit others, then we will rejoice that Christ is being exalted as our brothers and sisters find greater joy in Him.
