This will begin a 5 part series of posts with quotes from authors on the topic of heaven. The goal is to spark a love for and desire for The Treasure of Heaven itself (a person): Jesus Christ. Hopefully, you will be challenged in this series in a number of ways, especially in asking infinitely important questions like: 1) Am I Jesus-Centered in my thoughts about heaven? 2) How do I understand the Gospel? 3) How do I relate the Gospel to my husband or wife, kids, family members, college roommates, friends at school or coworkers? 4) How does my view of heaven affect my current situation here on earth (can anyone be of any earthly good if they care about heaven?)? 5) Am I going to heaven?
Here is the first quote, and its in the form of a question from its author:
"The critical question for our generation--and for every generation--is this: If you could have heaven, with no sickness, and with all the friends you ever had on earth, and all the food you ever liked, and all the leisure activities you ever enjoyed, and all the natural beauties you ever saw, all the physical pleasures you ever tasted, and no human conflict or any natural disasters, could you be satisfied with heaven, if Christ was not there?

What an awesome, thought-provoking question! Thank you for encouraging me to think about not just the place of heaven, but the goal, the reason for heaven.
Excellent! I love thinking about Heaven and seeing it in everyone because of Jesus!!!
